New Space Needs
New Testing.

Launch costs dropped 98%. CubeSat volumes scaled. Verification didn’t. We exist because the testing layer of New Space is overdue for a rebuild — lean, focused, CubeSat-native.

Testing as a process — not as a project.

Four principles that drive how we build BSL. They’re not slogans — they’re the basis for every scheduling, fixture, and reporting decision.

Belief 01

Size-based setups.

Setups designed around CubeSat-class hardware — not around legacy chambers built for telecom satellites. No oversized chambers, no wasted volume, no thermal lag.

Belief 02

Lean & 5S driven.

Combined thermal and vacuum exposure simulating the on-orbit environment. Used for qualification and acceptance testing where convective cooling must be eliminated. CubeSat-sized chamber under commissioning — slots open.

Belief 03

One-hand solution.

One BSL engineer owns your campaign from kickoff to delivery. Not a sequence of handoffs between specialised cells — a single point of responsibility.

Belief 04

Process, not events.

Testing is treated as a recurring process — repeatable, structured, automated. Your second campaign with us takes less coordination than your first.

Backed by enveon.

Bavarian Space Lab is the space-specialised brand of enveon GmbH   — a Munich-based environmental test lab. enveon brings 30+ years of testing discipline to space hardware. BSL brings the CubeSat focus.

We didn’t build space testing from scratch. We took an established lab that already runs vibration, climate, and HALT every week — and pointed it at small space hardware.

The testing gap is structural.

Europe is ramping launch capacity. CubeSat volumes are climbing. Test infrastructure is the bottleneck — and it’s not coming from legacy aerospace.

335 /yr

CubeSat launches 2025 (best estimate)

20–22% CAGR since 2020. Demand grew faster than test capacity.

3 → 22

European launches 2024 → 2030

Europe is rebuilding launch capacity post-2026 — Ariane 6, Isar Aerospace, PLD Space, Orbex.

3–6 mo

Typical ESTEC wait time

Legacy facilities are saturated. CubeSat teams either wait or compromise.

Munich. The Bavarian Space cluster.

Bavaria is one of Europe’s most concentrated New Space hubs. ESA BIC Munich, TUM, and a dense ecosystem of CubeSat startups live within an hour of our lab. Tested with ♡ in Munich.
